The Empowerment Academy PTO is excited to host our First Annual Trunk-or-Treat on
Saturday, November 3 from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. (in the parking lot across from the school).
We are seeking volunteers to participate in this event.

What is Trunk-or-Treat? Trunk-or-Treat is a safe and fun alternative to traditional door-
to-door trick-or-treating. Trunk-or-Treat volunteers will decorate their vehicle trunks (kid-
friendly decorations), park in the lot, and pass out candy or goodies to scholars. Volunteers
can pick their own trunk themes, and also dress in costume to make the event more fun for our scholars.

We suggest volunteers begin decorating trunks prior to arriving, or decorate trunks between
10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in the parking lot. All vehicles must arrive no later than 11:00 a.m. and
be completely decorated by 11:30 a.m. Vehicles must remain turned off after entering the
lot. Volunteers are asked to supply nut-free, individually wrapped, and store bought
candy or treats to distribute from their vehicles, and the PTO will collect donations to
support the volunteers when their candy or treats run out. Treats can also include items such
pencils, juice boxes, pretzels, and fruit snacks. There will be a prize for the best decorated trunk.
Costumes are encouraged! Stay tuned for more details on this fun event!
